[Hilos de Discusión] [Fecha] [Tema] [Autor]Hello Linux fans in Mexico, Greetings from the Software Liberty Association of Taiwan! We call ourselves SLAT. :-) Let me apologize first that I can't speak Spanish. Please forward this letter to whomever you think that might be interested. We at SLAT have heard that your effort in promoting free software in Mexico is very successful, such that the education system is adopting free software. That is marvelous! And we'd like to learn from you to do the same in Taiwan. If you can give me a few contacts for this manner that'll be appreciated. There is an event that we may have a chance to visit you. The Pacific Neighborhood Consortium (PNC, http://www.pnclink.org) is an international organization formed "to initiate and implement a program in computing and communications technology oriented toward maximizing opportunities for information exchange among institutions of higher education in the Pacific Rim." PNC is going to have a conference in University of Guadalajara, Mexico on December 6 - 8, 2001. In this conference, SLAT is trying to organize a session devoted to Open Source. Your input to the program is welcome, and your community is welcome to attend or give talks. In addition, we'd like to have a chance to visit your community, to learn how to promote free software in elementary schools and high schools, among other fields. It would be great if you can help arrange a site visit to one school or two. I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Your help is greatly appreciated. Best Regards, Ping p.s. I should introduce SLAT more to you, but I regret that our web site http://www.softwareliberty.org/ is totally Chinese right now. We are working on an English version. p.p.s. I'm actually a particle physicist. It's interesting to know that your site is hosted in Institute of Nuclear Sciences. :-) --------------------------------------------------------- para salir de la lista, enviar un mensaje con las palabras "unsubscribe ayuda" en el cuerpo a majordomo en linux org mx
