Nope, no jala. Pero ya descubrí por qué se desaparece el /tmp/.font-X11, y
el causante es precisamente el script '/etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs start'. Va la
corrida:

[root@havnor /tmp]#  mkdir /tmp/.font-unix
[root@havnor /tmp]#  chmod 4777 /tmp/.font-unix
[root@havnor /tmp]#  chown xfs.xfs /tmp/.font-unix
[root@havnor /tmp]# v -a
total 36
dr-xr-xr-x   8 root     root         4096 Mar  9 13:04 ./
drwxr-xr-x  23 root     root         4096 Mar  9 10:47 ../

xfs is stopped
[root@havnor /tmp]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs start
Starting X Font Server:                                    [  OK  ]
[root@havnor /tmp]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs status
xfs dead but subsys locked
[root@havnor /tmp]# v -a
total 32
